PAGASA Says LPA & ITCZ to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and ITCZ would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Friday (September 17, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area embedded in the Inter tropical Convergence Zone would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 90 kilometers east-southeast of Romblon, Romblon. The weather disturbance has a slim chance of intensifying into a storm.

The LPA and the ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Camarines Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Western Visayas and Occidental Mindoro.

The low-pressure area would also bring similar weather conditions over the provinces of La Union, Pangasinan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Benguet, Ifugao, and Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over rest of Bicol Region and Northern Samar as well as the rest of Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, Cagayan, Abra, Mountain Province, Kalinga, and Apayao would also have the same weather condition.  Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The remaining parts of the country would experience similar weather condition with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be slight to moderate, according to the weather agency.
