Fellow beauty queens react as Vickie Rushton bids goodbye to her pageant dream.
VICKIE RUSHTON – Beauty pageant veteran Vicki Rushton announced her retirement to join more pageants and other beauty queens have these reactions.
Vickie Marie Milagrosa Sausa Rushton is an actress, model, and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas — International 2011. She gained more exposure when she joined Pinoy Big Brother: All In where she finished 4th place at the end of the season.
Last Binibining Pilipinas 2018 pageant, she was crowned as the 1st Runner-up. She joined again in 2019 where she bagged several corporate awards such as Jag Denim Queen, Miss Ever Bilena, Manila Bulletin Reader’s Choice, Poten Cee Gandang Palaban, and Bb. Cream Silk. However, she was not able to move forward to the next round after the Top 15.
She tried for the third time again for the year 2020/2021 but due to age requirement, she needed to bid goodbye to her pageant dream. She turned 29 last month and she clarified in her social media post that she did not withdraw from the pageant.
“As much as I don’t want to, I need to close this chapter in my life. I thought I was okay but today I realized that I might not be as ok as i thought I was. It finally sunk in that I am no longer part of it,” she expressed in her post. She was emotional by her decision but she also believed that God has better plans for her.
“I never imagined this journey would end this way but maybe it’s time to dream a new dream,” she added.
