Samantha Bernardo talked about her pageant stints
“Always a runner-up”, here’s the reaction of Miss Grand International 2020 first runner-up Samantha Bernardo to not having the highest title in her beauty pageant stints.
Samantha has brought pride to the Philippines again when it comes to the world of pageantry last March. Although she was not hailed as the MGI winner, many pageant fans expressed that she fought a queenly fight.
Just recently, Samantha has returned to the country and the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) held a welcome event for her through a virtual media conference.
During the interview, she was asked to react to certain photos regarding her pageant journey, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
A series of photos were shown to her and she reacted to each one. The first photo featured her roommate Miss Myanmar who had to seek refuge in Thailand after the pageant because of the military junta in her country. Reportedly, the Burmese beauty just escaped to join the pageant and a warrant of arrest was issued against her.
There were also photos showing her fellow MGI queens. When the photo of her crowning moment was show, Samantha Bernardo said that at that time, she just “let go and let God.”
Then, she said, “I’m the best runner-up ever. It’s probably my destiny.” To recall, Samantha got the second runner-up title in both Binibining Pilipinas 2018 and 2019.
For the photo of her national costume (Gintong Agila), the Filipina beauty queen shared that it took 10 days to make it and she practiced wearing it during the quarantine.
“As part of my prize package, I received $6,000, a crown, and sash that I could keep forever,” Samantha shared about the prizes she won.
