Pageant Fans’ Version of Miss Universe PH 2020 Rabiya Mateo National Costume
MISS UNIVERSE 2020 – Watch pageant fans wearing their version of Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo’s national costume.
The Philippines’ bet to the 69th edition of the Miss Universe Rabiya Mateo wore an outfit inspired by the Philippine flag during the national costume competition of the prestigious pageant on Friday (Manila time).
The national costume competition was streamed on Lazada’s Facebook page, app, and Youtube channel for the viewers in the Philippines. Rabiya’s outfit has a touch of Victoria’s Secret.
Rabiya Mateo rocked red and blue wings and 3 gold stars to represent the symbols and colors of the Philippine flag. Her outfit was created by late designer Rocky Gathercole. Despite her amazing performance, the Ilogga beauty apologized to her fellow Pinoys and supporters.
Some pageant fans were quite unsatisfied with her look. They asked why she didn’t wear the headpiece created by Manny Halasan. Few hours after the show, Rabiya went live on IG to explain her side.
The Bulacan jewelry designer also talked about the headpiece he designed for Rabiya. He said he wants “to share the vision with everyone. It’s patriotic, historic, triumphant… victorious. It is not just looking at the beauty of the creation onstage but beyond what the eyes can see.”
