Bongbong Marcos on Senate “Fake” Incident: “Walang nangyayaring kagaya niyan noong panahon ko sa Senado”

Pres. Bongbong Marcos Reacts To Recent Senate Controversial Incident

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President called the recent Senate incident as allegedly “fake” and compared it during his term as senator.

The recent “putukan” in the Senate gathered different reactions and opinions from the public. Amid the claims of some majority senators who were inside the Senate building when the sudden eruption happened, there are people who question the truthfulness of the incident.

The said controversial incident led to the exit of Senator Bato dela Rosa from the Senate custody. The former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief is faced with an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.

After Senate absence of around six months, Senator Bato dela Rosa has only appeared again in the chamber recently — in time for the voting that declared the Senate presidency vacant. Thirteen senators voted for the ouster of former Senate Pres. Tito Sotto who was replaced by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, the minority leader then.

Sotto claimed that, for Senate presidents, there’s always a threat to be ousted and he believes that God has a plan for him over what suddenly transpired shortly before the House of Representatives impeached Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The former Senate President believes that his ouster may allegedly be connected to the possible impeachment trial of the Vice President.

Sen. Robin Padilla who is also part of the now-majority bloc and a vocal Duterte ally claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa went with him in his car when they exited the chamber. According to him, no one allegedly stopped them.

Amid the circulating speculations that the supposed incident was allegedly made for the escape of Sen. Bato dela Rosa, Pres. Bongbong Marcos broke his silence to the recent controversial incident in the upper chamber. During a press conference, PBBM revealed that he and Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, also a former senator, looked back to their time following the recent incident.

“Madalas kaming nagtitinginan ni ES Ralph. Kasi-kasi, ‘Ganito ba tayo nung senador tayo? Meron ba tayong ganyan na ginagawa? Hindi tayo ganyan,” the President said during a press conference.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the senators are allegedly taking matters on a personal level already. According to him, their topics have become shallow. Back then, he said, they could disagree but still share coffee after.

“Paano nangyari? ‘Yung Senado hindi na kagaya noong panahon natin. Nagpepersonalan na eh,” Marcos Jr. said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos dismissed the recent controversial “putukan” incident in the Senate as allegedly “fake”. Based on the post, the Chief Executive claimed he never expected the Senate to get to this level.

“Narating pa tayo sa putukan tapos fake pala ang putukan. Tapos, hindi ko maintindihan. Walang nangyayaring kagaya niyan noong panahon ko sa Senado… I never imagined that the Senate will descend into this kind of what’s happening right now,” the President expressed.

Amid the political turmoil, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos claimed that the majority senators are allegedly targeted with legal cases. She has aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the issues.
