Cops Arrest TNVS Driver After Punching Fellow Driver During Intense Road Rage
A 53-year-old TNVS driver was arrested after he allegedly punched another TNVS driver following a road rage incident in Quezon City.
On May 28, 2026, a TNVS driver reportedly punched his fellow driver during an intense traffic altercation along 20th Avenue. The confrontation was captured on CCTV and videos taken by passengers.
Footage showed a black SUV stopping along the road before moving forward and suddenly stopping again. A sedan was seen following behind.
After a few moments, the driver of the SUV stepped out of his vehicle and approached the driver’s side window of the sedan.
According to videos recorded by passengers inside the sedan, the SUV driver began arguing with the other motorist. He reportedly struck the vehicle’s window and exchanged heated words with the driver before walking away.
However, the situation quickly escalated when the 73-year-old driver of the sedan opened his window. The SUV driver returned and allegedly punched him twice before leaving the area.
Police investigators said the altercation started after the two vehicles were involved in a road conflict. Authorities explained that the SUV allegedly cut in front of the sedan, leading to an exchange of angry words between the drivers.
With the help of the Land Transportation Office, authorities were able to identify the registered owner of the SUV and eventually track down the suspect. Investigators later found that the vehicle was owned by a relative of the suspect’s employer.
The driver was arrested at his home in Rodriguez, Rizal on May 29. During questioning, he admitted regretting his actions and claimed that he felt provoked because he believed the other driver had dangerously crowded his lane.
The suspect is currently being held at the Project 4 Police Station custodial facility. He is facing complaints about slight physical injuries and unjust vexation.
Police also reminded motorists to remain calm while driving and avoid letting anger take control during stressful situations on the road.
“Maging mahinahon tayo sa lahat ng pagkakataon, huwag tayong pikon sa kalsada at huwag natin pairalin yung ego at init ng ulo. Lahat naman po nadadaan sa pagiging mahinahon,” PLt. Col. Lim said.
