Rabiya Mateo was emotional after the National Costume competition

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo cried and she apologized to those who were disappointed by her performance in the National Costume competition.

As of the preliminary events, each representative showcased her magnificent, extravagant, and meaningful costumes. For Rabiya’s costume, she showcased the symbolism of the Philippine flag that represents her also as a woman.

It was the last project of the late world-renowned Pinoy designer Rocky Gathercole. The Filipina beauty queen was stunning and before going out on the stage, she expressed that she is like Victoria’s Secret angel and that she is ready to fly.

Many Pinoy pageant fans commended her for her performance, however, it is inevitable that there were those who expressed dismay, frustration, or were disappointed.

After the national costume competition, Rabiya Mateo did a social media live and apologized to those who did not like what she did. She was crying as she said, “I did my best during the competition.”

She also thanked those who were cheering and expressed support for her. The beauty queen from Iloilo City also said that tomorrow will be the preliminary competitions for the swimsuit and long gown. That is the next event that will keep her busy but she decided to do a quick live to apologize.

“I’m so sorry, kung na disappoint man kayo sa akin but I know, I did my best,” Rabiya Mateo said.
