In a COVID-19 update, these are the celebrity casts of “Bagong Umaga” who caught the virus.
COVID-19 UPDATE – These stars from the series “Bagong Umaga” have tested positive for and got infected with the highly dangerous COVID-19.
In the latest data, the Philippines has already topped 1 million COVID-19 cases to which the last 250,000 cases were accumulated in just less than a month. As of April 26, 2021, the country had a total of 1,006,428 where 915,000 have recovered while 2 percent of it or 16,853 have died.
Seemingly, the new wave of infection once again showed the shortcomings of the government when it comes to making responses and addressing the needs of the people. Currently, India is facing the worst situation in which hundred thousands of people daily are getting infected and dying. And now, in the country, regardless of status in life, the virus won’t let you pass by.
Several of the local celebrities have gotten infected. Despite the new normal of working, they were still exposed to different people making contact with them which raises the chances of contracting the highly dangerous COVID-19. And in the series “Bagong Umaga”, at least six (6) of the afternoon series’ casts have tested positive, and fortunately, all of them survived.
Among those who were open about their struggles with having the virus are actresses Nikki Valdez, Sunshine Cruz who went in isolation for 22 days before recovery, and Heaven Peralejo who found the strength to surpass it all from loved ones and the people around. And during the virtual media conference for their show’s finale, it has been revealed that other cast members such as Tony Labrusca, Barbie Imperial, and Keempee de Leon have also contracted the virus and survived it.
Labrusca thanked his “Bagong Umaga” for staying with them and taking care of their needs until their full recovery. And the 22-year-old actress, keeping her condition before a secret, explained, “Kasi ako, palaging throwback ‘yung mga pino-post ko na photos and videos sa story ko. Baka malito ‘yung mga tao na nakasama ko kung kailan ba talaga ‘yun, at baka isipin nila na nakasama ko sila noong day na ‘yun. Baka ma-alarm sila.”
De Leon also seconded what Labrusca said about their show’s team for not leaving them behind. He is thankful not just for the friendship that they have all built but also with the fact that he found a family with them.
