Update on the Total COVID-19 Cases in PH Now Amid the Pandemic
TOTAL COVID-19 CASES IN PH – The total cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines is now near one (1) million amid the global pandemic.
Across the globe, most countries and territories have logged cases of COVID-19, the coronavirus disease that really posed a huge challenge to several healthcare systems. The Philippines is one of the nations with confirmed cases of the said disease.
It has been more than a year now since the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in the Philippines. Community quarantine measures are still up in PH now amid the ongoing fight against the spread of the disease.
Previously, a spike in the total COVID-19 cases in PH was recorded and it prompted the national government to place the entire National Capital Region (NCR) under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) again. The provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna were also placed under ECQ.

Currently, the NCR and the aforementioned provinces are under a modified ECQ. There are also travel restrictions imposed by other provinces now.
The vaccination process is currently ongoing. The top priority in the ladder are the healthcare workers and the senior citizens. The Department of Health (DOH) allows house-to-house vaccination for the senior citizens who cannot go to the facilities.
Currently, the daily COVID-19 cases recorded in the Philippines do not fall below 7,000. The total COVID-19 cases in Ph now is near the 1-million mark.
The recent addition on the total cases in the country was 8,162. It brought the total count to 997,523 and it is expected that it might reach the 1-million mark today, April 26, 2021. Based on ABS-CBN Data Analytics, it was in April 15 when the cases reached the 900,000 mark.
Out of the 997,523 COVID-19 cases recorded in the Philippines, a total of 903,665 have recovered while the death toll is at 16,783. The total active cases now is 77,075.
