APPLE DAVID – Just as the public debate over Apple David and Chad Gammad began to cool down, Ira Pablo reignited the issue with a series of explosive remarks online.
Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) reporter Ira Pablo spoke out against controversial courtside reporter Apple David after the latter admitted to being in a relationship with 18-year-old basketball player Chad Gammad.
The issue has generated widespread discussion online, especially after Apple’s relationship with the young athlete became a trending topic on social media. Amid the controversy, Ira took to Facebook to share her thoughts regarding Apple and her long-standing presence in basketball circles.
In her now-deleted post, Ira did not hold back in expressing her views.
“EVERYBODY knows how Apple David behaves around players. Wag na tayo maglokohan dito. Panahon palang ng daddy ko, she’s been around,” said Ira, who is the daughter of retired PBA player Victor Pablo.
She went on to express surprise that the matter only recently gained public attention.
“I’m so surprised ngayon lang to lumabas after all these years and ironically, because she exposed herself AGAIN.”
Ira further claimed that Apple’s continued visibility in sports media reflects what she described as a flawed system that tolerates and rewards questionable behavior.
“THIS WOMAN is the sports journalist networks choose to put on television to represent the league. She’s a product of a broken system that keeps rewarding the wrong behavior.
“Here’s your most valued and longest-running PBA courtside reporter. Professionalism left the group chat,” said Ira.
The discussion continued in the comment section of her post, where she responded to a netizen who raised questions about Apple’s dating preferences. According to Ira, Apple had long been vocal about being attracted to younger men.
“She’s been attracted to younger men years ago. Vocal rin siya about it. Di ko lang akalain na 18 years old,” Ira replied to a comment.
As of writing, the former reporter’s Facebook post has already been deleted. Apple, meanwhile, has yet to release any statement addressing Ira’s remarks.
Apple previously became a trending topic after rumors surfaced linking her romantically to the young basketball player. Following the public reaction, the courtside reporter apologized to those who were hurt by the controversy surrounding her relationship with Chad and appealed for respect and understanding from the public.
