Man Riding Motorcycle Arrested in Checkpoint for Possessing Toy Gun
Police arrested a man riding a motorcycle was arrested after being caught possessing a toy gun at a checkpoint in Makati on Monday.
According to a report by the Southern Police District (SPD), the motorcycle with 2 people on board was stopped at the Oplan Sita checkpoint on Metropolitan Avenue, Barangay Tejeros.
The authorities manning the checkpoint their usual check-up, which is checking the driver’s license. While asking for a license and documents, the police allegedly noticed that something was bulging at the waist of the rider shaped like a gun.
Police then immediately apprehended them and let the person suspected to possessed a gun raised his shirt. It was said that a .45 caliber gun was found in his waist.

However, it was later discovered that it was just a pellet gun or a toy gun. After the discoveries, they are still arrested as the ‘Oplan Sita’ is implemented because of frequent cases of robbery in the area, which involves motorcycle riders.
Meanwhile, in Las Piñas, a man was also arrested along Marcos Alvarez Avenue, Barangay Talon Singko for possession of a firearm. The suspect was found in possession of a .22 caliber gun. Both suspects will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
