38-Year-Old Lady in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Infected w/ Coronavirus

BACOLOD CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – A 38-year-old lady in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City tested positive for coronavirus disease.

On Thursday (June 18, 2020), a locally stranded individual who was released after exceeding the 14-day mandatory quarantine test positive for the new coronavirus disease. The authorities conduct contact tracing to the people who have close contact with the patient.

The lady patient reportedly came from Metro Manila and has been quarantined at Medalla Integrated School in Barangay Pahanocoy in the same city. Punong Barangay Jerry Tingson that they have already lockdown a certain block at Purok Pagasa, wherein the patient’s house is located.

38-Year-Old Lady

The Punong Barangay said that the unnamed woman freely roams around their village before she tested positive for COVID-19. The quarantine facility reportedly released the lady although her laboratory result was still on process.

Jerry Tingson also reported that the COVID-19 patient has a sari-sari store on their home and usually purchase their products at Libertad Public Market.

According to Tingson, the city government failed to turn over the female patient to the barangay. The village leader said that he can’t sleep after discovering that one of his constituents is infected by the disease.
