Coronavirus Positive Health Worker Breaks Quarantine Guidelines & Attends Birthday Party Outside the City
A coronavirus positive health worker escaped from the hospital just to attend a birthday party in Tagbilaran City.
On Sunday evening (June 14, 2020), Mayor Baba Yap reported that a health worker who tested positive for COVID-19 broke quarantine protocols just to attend a birthday party. The medical worker attended a birthday party outside the city.
The medical frontliner attended the party before the release of its polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which showed a positive result. After the party, the frontliner immediately returned to the hospital.

Yap said that the health workers serving coronavirus positive patients should observe strict quarantine although he or she haven’t a positive result. He is already looking into possible charges that may be filed against the health staff for violating the quarantine protocols.
However, the City Mayor did not mention the name of the hospital but there are some reports stating that two medical workers from Ace Medical Center tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
As of Monday morning (June 15, 2020), the two medical workers from Ace Medical Center were the only COVID-19 positive frontliners who were officially recorded. Panglao local government unit is already conducting a contact-tracing operation.

“This COVID-19 positive inidividual is not a resident of the Municipality of Panglao. However, his/her mother is momentarily residing at Barangay Bil-isan. The mother celebrated her birthday recently together with close associates including her child who is COVID-19 positive inidvidaul, hence inter-personal interactions occurred,” Panglao LGU said.
