Here is the DepEd school calendar of activities for 2020-2021.
DEPED SCHOOL CALENDAR – The Department of Education (DepEd) releases the school calendar of activities for S.Y. 2020-2021.
In a previous report, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced that the opening of classes will be on August 24, 2020. The postponement of date is due to the COVID-19 crisis which affected all sectors may it be public or private.
Moreover, based on their statement regarding the opening of classes, private schools are allowed to do earlier, however, face-to-face classes is not allowed. The traditional face-to-face discussion must start on the said date. Also, academic events which require mass gathering will all be canceled.
Here are the important dates to note:
2020
- June 1 – Start for teachers to render service
- June 1 to 30 – Enrollment, Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela
- June 12 – Independence Day
- July 1 to 31 – Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela
- August 24 – Opening of classes
- October 5 – World Teacher’s Day
- October 15 to 16 – 1st Quarter Assessment
- November 27 – Araw Ng Pagbasa
- November 30 – Bonifacio Day
- December 10 to 11 – 2nd Quarter Assessment
- December 14 to 18 – Midyear INSET
- December 19 – Start of Christmas break
2021
- January 1 – Resumption of classes
- January 3rd Week – NCAE (if allowed)
- January 4th Week – NAT for Grade 12 (if allowed)
- January 30 – Start of early registration
- February 1st Week – PEPT (if allowed)
- February 1st Week to 2nd Week – SPG/SSG Election
- February 12 – Chinese New Year
- February 24 to 26 – 3rd Quarter Examination
- February 25 – EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary
- April 1 – Maundy Thursday
- April 2 – Good Friday
- April 9 – Araw Ng Kagitingan
- April 15 to 16 – 4th Quarter Examinations for Grades 6, 10, and 12
- April 22 to 23 – 4th Quarter Examinations for Grades 1 to 5 and 7 to 11
- April 26 to 30 – End-Of-School Year Rites
- April 30 – Last Day of School Year
- May 3 – Start Of Summer CLasses
- June 11 – End of Summer classes
