DOH Update on Coronavirus Cases in the Philippines

DOH – The Department of Health released an update about the coronavirus cases in the Philippines today, April 25, 2020.

More than 200 countries across the globe are implementing strict measures now to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Officially called as COVID-19, this pandemic has claimed over 190,000 lives worldwide.

One of the countries affected by coronavirus is the Philippines. The entire Luzon now and several provinces in Mindanao and Visayas are implementing an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to curb the spread of the disease.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a state of calamity in the whole PH over coronavirus. The ECQ is set to expire this April 30 but it will be extended to high-risk areas.

DOH Update Coronavirus Philippines

With regards to the provinces, cities, and municipalities belonging to low and medium risk areas, the measure will be downgraded to General Community Quarantine or GCQ.

Recently, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 102 new cases of coronavirus. It brings the total COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country to 7,294.

With regards to the coronavirus death toll, 17 new deaths were recorded bringing the total to 494. Thirty (30) new patients have recovered bringing the total recoveries to 792.
