In a previous article, Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assured the people that no one will get hungry in this country amid this major health crisis – the COVID-19 Pandemic. As granted by the Congress, he will have Php 200-billion budget to give out to poor families. This accordingly the “largest and widest social protection program in our country’s history”.
The amount of subsidy ranges between Php 5,000.00 to Php 8,000.00 and will be given to around 18 million low income households in the country. This cash subsidies are for poor families who got affected by the quarantine and were forced to stop from working temporarily in order to contain the spread of the virus.
