1st Case of 2019 Coronavirus Recorded in Bacolod City Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia confirmed the first case of the 2019 novel coronavirus in Bacolod, Negros Occidental.
The Philippines is now faced with the challenge of containing the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country. Based on the latest release of the Department of Health (DOH), there is a total of 230 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
A total of eighteen (18) deaths due to coronavirus were recorded in PH. As of this writing, the number of recoveries is at eight (8) according to the health department.
Currently, the entire of Luzon is under an enhanced community quarantine and to limit the movements of the people. A state of calamity was already declared in the whole Philippines.
Recently, another city confirmed its first case of COVID-19. Based on a report of The Visayan Daily Star, Bacolod City in Negros Occidental confirmed its first coronavirus case.
It was Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia who made the confirmation. Based on the post, the patient is a 56-year-old male who has a travel history to London.
The patient is now admitted in a hospital and under isolation. It was not stated as to which hospital the 56-year-old male is currently confined.
