President Duterte Sympathizes To Chinese As PH’s COVID-19 Cases Soar

PRESIDENT DUTERTE – Philippine’s President Rodrigo Duterte sympathizes to Chinese people who got affected by the pandemic coronavirus.

The confirmed cases of coronavirus-stricken patients in the country, as of Thursday morning, have already spiked up to a total of 49 and the World Health Organization (WHO) just declared Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-2019) to be pandemic. This means that the epidemia has already spread across a wide region or even worldwide.

Now, as the cases in the country rise up, President Rodrigo Duterte, on March 11, met Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian as he extended his sympathies to the Chinese people who got affected by the novel coronavirus. They discussed the economic cooperation of the two countries and the spread of the virus which first emerged in Wuhan initially tagged as a mystery.

Also, as noted in a press release on Thursday, the government donated 52 boxes of emergency medical and food supplies to Wuhan. In return, Chinese ambassador also extended the China’s readiness to help the country. In addition, the president expressed his condolences to the families of the victims when a quarantine facility collapsed Quanzhou, Fujian.

Meanwhile, Hollywood stars such as Tom Hanks and his Rita Wilson resulted positive of coronavirus following some tests made to them. They have experienced some symptoms such as being tired, colds, some chills, body aches, and slight fever.

Also, NBA’s Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert also had the virus which prompted the organization to suspend games for this season. He was also seen touching microphones in a video of media people before he tested positive of the virus.
