NBA Suspends Season, Rudy Gobert Tests Positive for Coronavirus,
The National Basketball Association (NBA) has suspended the season after Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for coronavirus disease.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as “pandemic”. The deadly virus is currently spreading rapidly in different countries all across the globe.
A lot of countries are already implementing precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Many areas have been placed under lockdown due to the rapid spread of the virus.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus disease has already hit close to home for the NBA after Utah Jazz star center Rudy Gobert has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the report of Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Charania said on his Twitter post that Gobert is feeling good, strong and stable. The athlete is even strong enough to play the basketball game.
The supposed Jazz-Thunder matchup on Wednesday night has been temporarily suspended ahead of tip-off due to concern for Gobert. The player has been ruled out from the game due to his illness.
However, Thunder, Jazz or the NBA were not yet giving any comment regarding the reason for the postponement of the game. The two teams are currently quarantined in Chesapeake Energy Arena.
On Thursday (March 12, 2020), the Warriors and Nets opted to play without the attendance of the fans in the arena.
