Cotabato Hit by Earthquake with 4.2 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.2 magnitude quake in Cotabato today, November 21, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Cotabato. At 06:31 am on November 21 2019, Tulunan was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2. Intensity was recorded of the said quake.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Cotabato was located at 06.88°North, 124.94°East – 013 km North 75° East of Tulunan. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 010 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that Intensity IV was felt in Kidapawan City. Meanwhile, there are no damages and aftershocks expected from the quake. Keep safe everyone. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
