Leni Robredo Hints Possibility of Seeking for Presidency in 2022 Elections
LENI ROBREDO – Vice President Leni Robredo hinted at the possibility of seeking for the presidency in 2022 elections.
Politician Leni Robredo sits on the second-highest executive official of the Republic of the Philippines after President Rodrigo Duterte.
The 54-year-old politician is from Camarines Sur. She assumed the office last June 30, 2016.
Vice President Leni Robredo is the wife of the late Jesse Manalastas Robredo who is the former Secretary of the Interior and Local Government.
The female politician has been receiving scathing remarks from other people including her fellow politician. But Robredo tall against the criticism and continued her job as the vice president of the country.
Based on a report from Philstar, Leni Robredo was asked by the media if she was planning to run for the presidency this coming 2022 national elections.
She expressed that her top priority now is fixing the issues in the country since sitting on the top position in the country is a matter of destiny.
“Everything is possible, but it’s not something that is planned, I think it’s destiny,” said Robredo.
According to the report, Leni Robredo said the presidential election is still very far and believed that lots can happen in three years.
“The presidential election is still very far. In a year many things could happen, much more in three years,” she said.
It can be remembered that she made her last-minute run for Congress (2013) and vice presidency (2016).
Based on the report, Robredo expressed that preparing for the coming election is useless. She said fixing the issues of the country today will help shape the country’s future after the 2022 elections.
“For me, it’s not about preparations for 2022 but preparations for all the things that are coming to us now. How you face the issues today will shape the 2022 (landscape)…”
“That’s why I think it’s useless to prepare for 2022 as many things could happen,” she added.
