Leni Robredo has this reaction to the resignation of Kiko Pangilinan
Vice President Leni Robredo, reportedly, did not accept the resignation of Senator Kiko Pangilinan as the President of Liberal Party.
On Tuesday, Pangilinan broke the news about this matter as he handed his resignation letter to Robredo.
According to a previous report, the Senator is taking full responsibility for the outcome of the 2019 midterm election. He was the campaign manager of Otso Diretso, the group of senatorial candidates from the opposition.
Since no one from the opposition’s senatorial bet entered the magic 12, Pangilinan said that he is “primarily accountable for this defeat.”
Based on a party insider who told Rappler, reelected Quezon City 6th District Congressman Kit Belmonte also resigned as the secretary-general of the Liberal Party.
The two LP officials met with VP Leni Robredo on the morning of May 21, Tuesday.
However, the source said that the Vice President of the Philippines did not accept the resignation of Pangilinan and Belmonte.
“Hindi tinanggap ni VP,” the source revealed.
Based on the report, the source also said that Robredo told them to pick up the pieces after the loss of Otso Diretso senatorial candidates.
