Angat Dam’s Water Level Declined Below Critical Level
Angat Dam’s water level is now below the critical level and could cause service water interruption that may last for a couple of hours in the affected areas.
On Saturday (June 22, 2019), the water level in Angat Dam is at 159.58 meters, which is lower than the critical level of 160 meters.
Maynilad Corp. Comm head Jennifer Rufo said that the declining dam water level may cause water service interruption in the province of Cavite.
Rufo said that the water company would deploy stationary water tanks and mobile tankers to ration water in the affected areas.
The company executive also said that the water utility company was already monitoring the water quality since Angat Dam is now using its lower outlet.
Marikina, Mandaluyong, Pasig, and other elevated areas are the most affected areas.
Manila Water VP for Corp. Comm. Jeric Sevilla said that the water interruption could last up to 12 hours.
