CEBU CITY – A massive fire breaks out in Sitio Puntod, Alaska, Mambaling in Cebu City and a resident was spotted raising Sto. Nino image while firefighters try to put out the fire.
A massive fire hits the houses in Sitio Puntod, Alaska, Mambaling in Cebu City, May 31, Friday, to which as of 2:45 P.M. is now on the third alarm.

And while the firefighters on rescue are trying to put out the massive fire, a resident was spotted raising the image and figure of the Sto. Nino upward directing to the fire. Probably, this is his way of praying for safety of everyone after the fire broke out in their place.
A Twitter post from Cebu Daily News says, “WATCH: Amado Palagtiosa, 48, raises an image of Señor Sto. Niño while firefighters work to put out a a fire that hit Sitio Puntod in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on Friday afternoon, May 31, 2019.”
With the rising temperature in the country, people must take heed of the tips and advises from experts on what to do to avoid fire that would absolutely burn houses or buildings into ashes, and other properties. Among the common causes of house fires are unattended candles and electrical appliances, smoking, faulty wiring, and many others.

- Leave valuables behind and never delay escape from a burning house or building

- Always cover nose with a shirt or a damp towel during a house fire in order to avoid inhaling of smoke
