Looking slim is not just about being aesthetic. What is more important is health, and in a new post, actress Mika Dela Cruz shares her journey in becoming healthier and better looking.
According to her, she tried everything to lose the weight her health conditions brought her, but at one point, she became hopeless. For five years, her efforts, such as working out, doing diet programs, and using medical methods to shed pounds, were deemed ineffective.
Along with the frustration that came with this, she also received shaming because of her body, and truthfully, it was hard to swallow those negative comments.
“It’s painful seeing my body being picked apart online & at times even in person because I knew that it was trying it’s hardest to get me through all the health struggles & systemic inflammation I had. I started feeling hopeless, hating my appearance to the point of hiding myself,” she wrote. She gave up thinking it was never possible.
To recall, in a previous article, Mika was rumored to be pregnant because of her weight gain. The pregnancy rumors even affected her wedding, with naysayers saying the reason for tying the knot was her pregnancy. But she proved them wrong.
But she was redirected and met an expert who made her fitness aspirations come true. After surrendering her desires to God, she met an expert in health-related weight management.
She applied changes in the way she ate that helped them lose weight in a disciplined and sustainable manner. The method was gentle but gave her real results
