Kris Aquino elicit criticisms for comment on Mariel Padilla’s Malacanang dinner post
Netizens slammed the remark of social media influencer Kris Aquino to the Malacanang dinner post of It’s Showtime host Mariel Padilla.
Mariel and his husband Robin Padilla were among the invited celebrities in the recently concluded dinner at the Palace.
The couple has been known as supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte. This event, obviously, made Mariel so ecstatic as she shared details about it on her Instagram account.
She shared that the President waited for Robin’s food before he ate his dinner too. That gesture of the Chief Executive really touched the TV host.
“Super nakakatuwa at nakaka touched talaga. Yung loyalty ni Robin kay President ay hindi sayang because it is reciprocated with kindness,” Mariel said. And that for her is very memorable.
Her post about the Malacanang dinner received reaction from Kris Aquino.
The Queen of all Media apologized that during the administration of her brother former President Noynoy Aquino, she did not have the chance to invite Mariel for a dinner at the Palace.
“Hi Ma… it’s those human gestures of saying THANK YOU that matter… Nahiya ako that hindi ka na invite for a proper thank you celebration (i am keeping my fingers crossed at some point you did receive flowers?)” Kris said.
Then, she talked about the funny story she had during a formal dinner.
With this, the social media influencer received criticisms from netizens. Some said that Kris still managed to divert the attention towards her.
One netizen said that she could have sent a direct message to Mariel and called the comment of Kris as “kaepalan”.
Another one questioned her motive of commenting to the post of the noontime show host.
On the other hand, the supporters of Kris Aquino defended her against harsh comments.
