Lani Mercado says something over Bong Revilla’s controversial detention selfie.
BONG REVILLA – The wife of the detained former senator Bong Revilla, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado, finally breaks silence over controversial selfie of her husband.
Based on a previous report, June 20, 2014, a warrant arrest against the then Senator Bong Revilla and other 31 other personalities charging them with graft and plunder cases over the “pork barrel” fund scam.
And the former senator surrendered after the releasing of the warrant arrest. He was charged for accumulating P242 million from his pork barrel funds but denied it insisting that his signature was forged.
He got detained at PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
In another article, Revilla was suffering from large rats, roaches, and extreme heat in his detention cell measuring 32-square meter.
And recently, a controversial selfie of Revilla has been uploaded as an update on his Facebook account which led to the confiscation of his mobile phone as per the report from ABS-CBN.
The detention selfie of the former senator has ignited controversy and speculations.
“Today is exactly my 4th year in prison,” Revilla accordingly wrote on Facebook. He further added, “This is 4 years away from my family; missing out on the milestones to my children’s lives; 4 long years that I can no longer get back.”
In a follow-up report of ABS-CBN, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado, however, denied that it was her husband who posted it on Facebook.
She said, “Ang alam ko po doon, may admin po siya ng Facebook account. ‘Yon po ang alam ko, somebody takes care of his Facebook account.”
Mercado furthered, “I think the picture is an old picture.”
“I don’t think he has a cellphone, why? Kasi bawal po doon,” Mercado told ABS-CBN News.
