Netizen’s Funny Reaction On Topic “Climate Change” During Miss Earth 2017

Netizen elicits reaction over comment on a post regarding climate change topic during the Miss Earth 2017.

MISS EARTH 2017 – A netizen from Twitter has received several reactions over her comment in a post with regards to the climate change topic in this year’s Miss Earth.

The people of the Philippines are definitely celebrating because of the victories bagged by the beauty queens representing the country.

One is Winwyn Marquez for snatching the crown and was hailed as this year’s Miss Reina Hispanoamericana.

Secondly, is Karen Ibasco for being the Miss Earth 2017 despite tight competition against other contestants.

But she bested out other aspiring beauty queens vying for the crown.

During the competition, the Question and Answer portion had two parts. One for the Top 8 semifinalists and the other for the Top 4 finalists.

First, the contestants were asked to pick a hashtag from a bowl and the country’s bet had #biodiversity.

Thus, she answered with utmost confidence that the biodiversity is very important and she added that it is “very important for us to protect them because as we protect them, we protect the environment to help save our home, our planet, our Earth, to be a better place to live in.”

And the second part is where she was asked, “Who or what do you think is the biggest enemy of Mother Earth and why?”

The queen answered, “I believe that the real problem in this world is not climate change; the real problem is us because of our ignorance and apathy. What we have to do is to start changing our ways, to start recalibrating our minds, and redirecting our steps, because together, as a global community, our micro efforts will have a macro effect to help save our home, our planet.”

And on Twitter, a certain  posted, “Miss Australia declares climate change but Miss Philippines says, problem is not climate change, it’s US.”

But a fellow netizen has commented on the post, “Bakit nadamay ang United States? My gawd.”
