Honest Ifugao Kid Returns Lost Pouch Containing P100k to Respective Owner
An 11-year-old Ifugao kid earned praises and admirations online after returning a lost pouch containing P100, 000.
Denard Uy-uyon of Asipulo, Ifugao caught the attention of the online community for his honesty. The young boy returned the lost pouch he found inside a public jeepney to its respective owner.
The boy immediately picked up the pouch and told his mother Daisy about the incident. Daisy contacted the owner identified as Myrna Nalliw through the help of identification card inside the pouch.
Naliliw who is working as an assistant administrative officer from a renewable energy corporation in Ifugao withdraw the cash, which is the company’s fund and placed it inside the pouch. She is not expecting to drop the pouch inside the jeep.
The Ifugao kid showed an act of honesty to obey the instruction of his parents. He also received P10, 000 reward from a resident named Agnes Piggangay who came from the town of Kiangan in Ifugao.
“It was validated lately that this learner Denard B. Uy-uyon, 11 years old, a grade V pupil of Panubtuban Elementary School, Asipulo District found a big cash in the amount of P102, 450.00 and gave to his mother. Eventually, they were able to contact the owner and gave [back] the money,” DepEd Tayo Youth Formation Division Office said.
