Honest Garbage Collector Returns Lost Cash to Respective Owner

An honest garbage collector earns praises and admiration after returning lost cash to its respective owner.

A garbage collector named Reny Corpuz found a paper bag containing huge amount of cash on the garbage thrown into the truck. He initially found P500 pesos and eventually found the paper containing P191, 000.

Corpuz immediately surrendered the cash to the local government unit of Urdaneta City in Pangasinan. He do not want to take the money knowing that someone owns it. The honest man returned it without any hesitation.

“Doon sa mga basura sa taas ng truck nakita ko na may P500 na nakakalat, doon kasi ako sa taas ng truck, ako ang taga-buhos ng basura,” Corpuz said.

A certain establishment conducted a general clearing operation and the money inside a paper bag has been accidentally thrown into the garbage bin. The money has been successfully returned to the owner.

Urdaneta City GSO head Emily Lucero also promoted the employee from contractual to casual status because of his honesty. The garbage collector’s relatives are very proud of what he did.

“Mayroong promotion of course. From contractual to casual, kaagad-agad, nabigyan siyang ganu’ng status na ngayon,” Lucero said.
