She was reported missing on March 18, and her father, JR Tablate, said they last spoke over a messaging app that day. Sophia was last seen at Santolan Bridge, heading toward SM Marikina, wearing a gray spaghetti top, dark jeans, and white sneakers.

On Monday, authorities discovered her body inside the private compound. She was hanging from a tree with a cord around her neck.

The Pasig Emergency Unit carried out an initial medical evaluation, after which the Eastern Police District (EPD) Forensic Unit conducted a technical investigation. According to their findings, there were no reported conflicts between the victim and her family before she went missing.

Based on the recent update, police have ruled out foul play in the death of the 15-year-old student. Capt. Rodolfo Rabago, team leader of the crime scene operatives who assessed the site, said, “There was no sign that she was killed or subjected to violence.”

Pasig police deputy chief Maj. Loreto Tigno Tigno said authorities recovered her cellphone, personal items, and at least three letters addressed to her friends. He added that investigators are considering a digital forensic examination of Tablate’s phone to gather more information.

In a heartbreaking message, her mourning father shared his grief:

“Love,

After the autopsy, it was confirmed there was no foul play, no harm done to you by anyone. If that brings even the smallest consolation, then so be it.
But no matter how small that consolation is, it will never be mine, my Love, because it doesn’t change the fact that I have failed you. I miss you, Loveeee.”
