Motorcycle Rider Who Attacked Motorist in Manila Permanently Banned from Driving
A motorcycle rider who struck a motorist with a helmet during a viral road rage incident in Manila was permanently banned from driving.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has imposed its highest administrative penalty on a motorcycle rider involved in a viral road rage incident in Sampaloc, Manila on June 1, 2026. The rider was accused of assaulting a fellow motorist.
As a result, his driver’s license has been revoked, and he is now permanently prohibited from obtaining a new one.
According to reports, the rider was allegedly driving in the middle of the roadway in a manner that nearly caused a collision. After the encounter, the rider and his passenger reportedly followed the other motorist.
Following an investigation, the LTO determined that the rider had committed serious violations of traffic laws and road safety regulations. Because of the gravity of the offense, the agency imposed the harshest administrative sanction available.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao emphasized that violence and intimidation have no place on public roads. He explained that every licensed driver is expected to act with discipline, respect, and responsibility at all times.

Lacanilao also pointed out that reckless and aggressive behavior puts not only the people directly involved at risk but also other motorists and pedestrians nearby.
The agency said the penalty serves as a strong reminder that dangerous behavior on the road will not be tolerated. Authorities continue to encourage motorists to remain calm during disagreements and to avoid actions that could lead to harm or further conflict.
The LTO also assured the public that it will continue enforcing traffic laws and taking swift action against drivers who endanger others.
