Sandro Marcos told a reporter to verify her source
House of Representatives Majority Leader Sandro Marcos lambasted a reporter who asked him about an unverified report.
The lawmaker faced reporters during an ambush interview at the Batasang Pambansa complex. One of the reporters asked about reports that General Santos City did not receive any MOOE (maintenance and other operating expenses) allocation.
Rep. Marcos stressed that this would be impossible for any local government unit to receive zero budget.

“There’s no such thing as zero MOOE, there’s no such thing as zero budget either,” Congressman Sandro Marcos said. The reporter insisted and mentioned GenSan.
With this, the presidential son asked the reporter about her source. “Saan mo yan narinig?” he inquired, and added, “Ipa-verify mo muna dapat.”
Then, the reporter mentioned Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste. Rep. Marcos insisted that this was just according to what the reporter heard, and he asked again, “Vinerify mo ba?”
The lawmaker also stressed that the reporter had just to answer “yes” or “no” when he asked if it was verified. There was no answer from the reporter. “Okay, so next time ma’am. i-verify muna natin bago natin itanong, para hindi lang kuwento,” Rep. Marcos said.
It can be heard that the reporter apparently wants to verify it from him. Cong. Sandro Marcos said, “As journalists, it’s also our responsibility to verify the information before we ask those who are being interviewed.” A netizen on Reddit shared this video clip.
Meanwhile, in one of the recent statements that the lawmaker had, he shared his thoughts on the Senate Presidency of Senator Win Gatchalian. On June 17, 2026, Sen Gatchalian was officially elected as the Senate President. With this, Rep. Marcos said that the “level-headedness” of Sen. Gatchalian is what is needed in the country’s current political climate.
