Pop Rock Royalty Yeng Constantino had a shocking experience with a celebrity she actually looked up to as an idol.
Netizens are speculating about the identity of the person Yeng was referring to. someone who seemingly belittled her when she was just starting out in showbiz.
The Kapamilya singer revealed details about how this famous personality snubbed or put her down during an interview fduring her recent guesting on ‘Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast,’ hosted by directors Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac.
Yeng Constantino was asked if there was an idol of hers whom she wished she hadn’t met in person due to a bad experience.
“Oo, meron akong nakilala. Kaka-start ko lang noon, kakalabas ko lang ng Pinoy Dream Academy (dating reality talent search ng ABS-CBN kung saan siya nanalo). Nag-guest siya sa ASAP. Todo abang ako sa backstage,” the singer said.
She approached that personality, and said, “‘Idol ko po kayo. Sana po maka-collab ko kayo balang araw.’ Tapos sabi niya sa akin ‘Kung darating ‘yun, darating ‘yun. Huwag mong ipipilit.’”
Yeng said that she would never forget that instance. She admitted that she had no idea what her idol wanted to mean at that time. She was so stunned.
“Parang ‘yung mukha ko, ‘tama ba ‘yung narinig ko?’ Tapos parang nag-zone out ako after. Parang nag-dissociate ako afterwards,” the singer shared.
She reportedly didn’t expect that kind of reaction from her idol, so she was truly left stunned. Yeng didn’t expect that answer.
It was because her idol didn’t give her a standard showbiz response, like, the usual “I hope one day.” Yeng Constantinto said that her idol was straightforward with her and she said “ni-real talk” by someone she admired.
