Moviegoers Rush Out as Strange Odor Disrupts Spider-Man Premiere
SPIDER-MAN – A screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day took an unexpected and hilarious turn when an overpowering odor disrupted the film and prompted an evacuation.
A screening of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” took an unexpected turn after a foul odor disrupted the movie experience, forcing hundreds of moviegoers to leave their seats and evacuate the theater.
The unusual incident reportedly happened on August 2 during a screening of the highly anticipated Marvel film. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” marks Tom Holland’s fourth appearance as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), following the release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021.

According to a report by the New York Post published on August 3, the incident occurred while the movie was playing at a Cine Colombia multiplex located inside the Plaza Bocagrande shopping center.
As the film was rolling, an overpowering foul smell suddenly spread throughout the cinema, leaving audience members visibly shocked and uncomfortable. The unpleasant odor quickly became so intense that many moviegoers abandoned their seats and headed toward the exits.
Reports indicated that hundreds of people were evacuated into the hallway as theater staff dealt with the unexpected disruption. Videos circulating online captured the reactions of viewers, many of whom appeared confused, disgusted, and frustrated by what had happened. Some were seen covering their noses while others laughed at the bizarre situation, making the incident quickly go viral on social media.
Although the screening itself was not officially canceled, the experience had already been spoiled for many attendees. Several moviegoers chose not to return to the auditorium and instead left the cinema before the movie had finished.

Authorities and theater management have yet to determine the exact cause of the incident. It remains unknown who among the audience members may have been responsible for the foul odor.
However, some reports have suggested that the disturbance may not have been caused by flatulence alone. There is speculation that someone may have intentionally released a stink bomb as a prank, though this has not been confirmed.
The bizarre episode has since sparked widespread discussion online, with social media users sharing jokes, memes, and humorous reactions about the unexpected interruption. While many found the incident amusing, others pointed out that it disrupted the experience of paying customers who had been looking forward to watching one of Marvel’s biggest releases on the big screen.
