A motorcycle rider gets his helmet tapped by a man crossing a pedestrian lane in Iloilo City for refusing to stop at designated crossing area.
A rider gained attention online after he was caught on camera failing to give way to a pedestrian at a designated crossing area. The incident happened along the diversion road in Iloilo City.
In the video, several vehicles can be seen stopping to allow people to cross at the pedestrian lane. However, a motorcycle rider suddenly continued moving through the crossing area despite the presence of pedestrians.

One man who was crossing at the time appeared to react quickly after the motorcycle passed close to him. He tapped the riderās helmet as the motorcycle went by, seemingly calling the riderās attention after the near-miss incident.
The rider then stopped his motorcycle and looked back at the pedestrian. The brief encounter was captured on video and later circulated online, where many viewers shared their opinions about the situation.
Authorities from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Western Visayas said they were able to identify the rider involved in the incident. According to LTO Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, a Show Cause Order will be issued to the rider to explain his actions.
The agency believes the rider may have committed reckless driving by failing to yield to pedestrians who were already crossing the road. Officials said that motorists are required to slow down and stop when people are using pedestrian lanes.
The LTO also emphasized that pedestrians have the right of way at designated crossings. Road users are expected to respect traffic rules to help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of everyone.
