Dentist Reminds Mother to Prioritize Child’s Dental Health After Severe Tooth Infection
A dentist called out the mother of a young patient for allegedly prioritizing her beauty expenses over her child’s dental care.
Recently, Tito_yann, a Threads user, shared his experience with a patient, saying that the mother reportedly put herself first instead of her child. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions online.
In his post, he talked about a seven-year-old patient who came to the clinic with very serious dental problems. According to him, around 90 percent of the child’s teeth were already decayed.
The infection had become so severe that the child’s face was badly swollen, and one eye was almost closed because of the swelling.
The dentist said he could not help but feel frustrated. As a healthcare professional, he believes that parents should give equal attention to their children’s oral health.
Tooth decay, especially in young children, can quickly lead to infection if not treated early. In this case, the condition had already become painful and alarming.
The dentist also shared that the mother said they were not able to bring the child to the dentist right away because they did not have enough budget. However, the dentist noticed that the mother appeared well-groomed and was busy taking photos with her phone while at the clinic.
It made him feel that the child’s needs may not have been given proper attention. Many health experts continue to remind parents that early care can prevent serious infections, pain, and higher medical expenses in the future.
