Woman Pulls Back Expensive Phone During Snatching Attempt in Quezon City
A woman was able to pull back her expensive phone during a snatching attempt in Barangay Santa Teresita, Quezon City.
On Friday night, February 13, 2026, a woman nearly avoided losing her expensive cellphone after two men on a motorcycle tried to snatch it. The incident was captured on CCTV outside a condominium along Florentino Street.
The victim, Eariel Macasaet, said the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. She and her two friends had just come from a concert at a university and were planning to grab something to eat before heading home.

As they stepped out of the condominium entrance, she noticed a motorcycle circling near them.
After a few moments, the motorcycle with two riders passed close to them. The back rider suddenly reached out and tried to grab her iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is worth around P115,000.
Macasaet was holding the phone at the time. Because of a quick reaction and a rush of adrenaline, she managed to pull her phone back before the suspect could take it.
CCTV footage showed the motorcycle slowing down and stopping right in front of the group before the attempt. The riders appeared to have targeted the phone from the start. Due to the strong pull from the victim, the back rider almost fell off the motorcycle.
Macasaet admitted that she felt even more scared because the phone had no insurance and contained important work files. Losing it would have caused serious problems for her.
After the incident, they went to the barangay office to request a copy of the CCTV footage, which clearly showed the attempted snatching. Barangay officials reminded the public to stay alert, especially when using mobile phones at night or in dimly lit areas.
