Sen. Ping Lacson Asserts He’s Not Gay Following Remarks of Sen. Imee Marcos
PING LACSON – The Senate President Pro Tempore reacted to the “makipagsabunutan” remark of Senator Imee Marcos against him.
Following the signing of the P6.79 trillion budget for 2026 by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., some criticisms surrounded the national spending law passed for this year. The President’s own sister, Senator Imee Marcos, was one of those who criticized the fund.

Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the 2026 national budget still allegedly has “soft pork”. Her claim came even after Marcos Jr. rejected 7 out of 10 unprogrammed funds in the national budget which are as follows:
- Budgetary Support for Government Owned and Controlled Corporations: P6.895 billion
- Prior Years’ Local Government Unit Shares: P14.623 million
- Insurance of Government Assets and Interests: P2 billion
- Payment of Personnel Services Requirements: P43.245 billion
- CARS Program (Automotive Industry Support): P4.32 billion
- RACE Program (Automotive Industry Competitiveness): P250 million
- Government Counterpart for Certain Foreign-Assisted Projects: P35.77 billion

After Sen. Imee Marcos criticized the 2026 national budget that was approved by Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson hit back at Sen. Imee Marcos saying she allegedly has P2.5 billion allocables based in the Cabral files. He was referring to the supposed files of the late former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Maria Catalina Cabral who was tagged in the flood control mess prior to her death.

Sen. Imee Marcos reacted to the accusation of Sen. Ping Lacson claiming that the P2.5 billion allocable was allegedly a “wishlist”. According to the presidential sister, none of the allocables she requested was allegedly granted.
“‘Di niya alam na lahat ‘yan ay wishlist na binigay sa DPWH Central Office. Clueless ba siya na kaming mga oposisyon lahat FLR or “for later release” kaya ni isa diyan ay walang naibigay, ZERO KAMING LAHAT nila Bong Go, Bato at Robin,” Marcos said.
Sen. Imee Marcos further claimed that Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson allegedly has an urged to probably engaged in a girls’ fight with her. According to her, she will surely lose if it happens.

Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson reacted to the remarks of Sen. Imee Marcos. Based on a report of PhilStar, the former Philippine National Police Chief turned Senator stressed that no part in his face was enhanced.
“Hindi po peluka ang aking buhok. Idugtong ko na rin na walang peke sa mukha ko. Hindi rin pustiso ang ngipin ko. My teeth are all mine. Ulitin ko, walang peke sa anumang bahagi ng aking mukha,” he said.
Furthermore, based on the report, Lacson stressed that he is not gay. Meanwhile, he clarified that has nothing against gay people and he respects their decision.
“Lalong hindi ako bakla at kung iniisip ni Senator Imee na bakla ako, wala siyang maaring makitang macho dito sa mundo,” the Senate President Pro Tempore added.
According to Sen. Ping Lacson, he is a straight man. He even likened himself to Senate Pres. Tito Sotto and former Sen. Gregorio Honasan.
“Kahit hindi ako kagwapuhan, para sa akin, masarap pa rin na maging tunay na lalaki. At tulad nina Tito Sotto at Gringo Honasan, macho din po ako. Lalaking-lalaki,” Lacson said.
Previously, amid the issues in the Philippine government, Sen. Imee Marcos was slammed for allegedly defending Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
