Statement of DILG on Sen. Bato dela Rosa amid Alleged ICC Arrest Warrant
DILG – Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla claimed that they are aware about the location of Senator Bato dela Rosa amid the alleged arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against him.
Last month, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla claimed that the ICC has allegedly released a copy of the arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. Following the Ombudsman’s claim, he asked the Supreme Court to compel Remulla to release a copy of the supposed arrest warrant.

Remulla claimed that he allegedly has a ‘copy’ of the supposed ICC arrest warrant against dela Rosa amid the silence of the foreign court and the Department of Justice (DOJ) then. The Supreme Court junked the appeal of Dela Rosa.
Recently, former President Rodrigo Duterte’s former spokesman, Harry Roque, claimed that the ICC has issued an arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. According to him, the arrest warrant was allegedly longed released but it was only recently when the DOJ and the DILG were sent copies.

Roque advised Dela Rosa not to allow the authorities to arrest him and send him to The Hague, Netherlands. Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte who was arrested last March 11 remains detained under the custody of the ICC in The Hague.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa was no show in the Senate sessions since November 11 when the chamber resumed its sessions. Despite his non-appearance during the Senate sessions, his camp claimed that the Senator is allegedly not hiding. According to Atty. Israelito Torreon, his client might make himself available after the government has clarified its course of actions.
Recently, amid the alleged ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla claimed that they supposedly know the whereabouts of the Senator. Based on a report on GMA News, he said they are monitoring the Senator.
“We are monitoring him. Alam namin kung nasaan siya. At hintayin lang namin kung may utos talaga ang korte o wala,” the DILG Chief said.

Furthermore, based on the report, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla also claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa is allegedly transferring to different places using different vehicles. According to him, the interior department has monitored the Senator in 6 different places in the last three (3) weeks.
“Palipat-lipat siya ng mga bahay. Sa mga kaibigan niya, tinatago siya. Tapos sa loob lang siya ng bahay. Kapag lilipat siya, iba-ibang kotse ang ginagamit,” Remulla expressed.
Amid the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief’s non-appearance in the Senate, Minority Sen. Robin Padilla gave an advice for Sen. Bato dela Rosa.
