Man Steals Laundry First Before Taking Parked Motorcycle in Marikina

Man Caught on CCTV Stealing Laundry Before Taking Parked Motorcycle

A man was caught on CCTV stealing laundry before finally taking a parked motorcycle in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.

On early Tuesday morning (November 18, 2025), a strange robbery was caught on CCTV when a man stole laundry before finally taking a parked motorcycle.

The CCTV footage showed a man without a shirt was walking alone in a narrow alley. He took a long stick from the side of the road and used it to pull down some clothes hanging to dry outside nearby houses.

The man calmly walked around as if he was familiar with the area, holding the stolen clothes with him.

Another camera recorded the same man pushing a motorcycle. This time, he was already wearing one of the stolen shirts. He eventually returned again, now wearing a helmet, and continued to push the motorcycle away from the area.

The victim later explained that at 2:54 a.m., the suspect first checked the motorcycle before moving to the back area where he stole the hanging clothes. The motorcycle was not taken immediately, but the man came back later to push it away.

“Yung exact na 2:54 a.m. galing siya rito, tinitingnan niya ‘yung motor, then lumipat po siya sa likod. Doon po siya nanunungkit ng mga nakasampay na damit, ‘yun po talaga ‘yung una niyang kinuha,” the victim said.

It was already past six in the morning when the owner discovered that the motorcycle was gone. He quickly went to the barangay office to have the incident recorded and then reported the theft to the police.

A barangay officer shared that he believed the man was not from Tumana and likely came only to commit the crime. If he were a local resident, authorities would have recognized him immediately.

In a follow-up search with the police, the victim eventually found his motorcycle left on the side of the road in Barangay Tumana. The wiring had been damaged, and the body parts were already removed. It seemed the thief was unable to start the vehicle, so he abandoned it.

Police operations are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspect, while barangay officials have tightened security to prevent similar incidents in the future.
