Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza will be working with Sharon Cuneta in a project, and the Megastar has this to say about the opportunity.
For the third time, GMA and ABS-CBN will be collaborating for a drama series called “Honor Thy Mother.” This will be headlined by Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza.
Based on a previous article, Barbie revealed that the Megastar was one of her inspirations to become an actress. To recall, back in 2023, Barbie was featured in the TV remake of Sharon’s movie Maging Sino Ka Man. The Kapuso and her onscreen partner at that time, David Licauco, received praise from Sharon.
In this new project, Cuneta and Forteza will be working together for the first time, and both are excited about it. During the reveal of Prime Video’s seven new Filipino original series slated for release this year, one of them is this drama.
They will be playing the roles of a mother and her estranged daughter, along with co-stars John Estrada and Khalil Ramos. According to the Megastar, she has seen Barbie in several occasions before, and every time they would bump into each other, they would often have a conversation.
“Madaming young artists ng GMA-7. ang lagi kong nakikira sa social gatherings, si Barbie. Tapos we would end up talking to each other. We really enjoyed each other’s company every time. Kaya nung nalaman kong siya (makakasama ko) and this happened. It’s my second project with Prime (Video) so I’m very happy,” she said.
Honor Thy Mother marks the Megastar’s second production with Prime Video after Saving Grace in 2024.
In an Instagram post, Cuneta expressed that she feels honored and excited to be working soon with the younger actress, along with the other stars. She added that this is one of her surprises for her supporters. She is grateful for this opportunity and beautiful project.
