Authorities Arrest Man for Stealing Neighbor’s Motorcycle in Quezon City

A 32-year-old man was arrested after stealing his neighbor’s motorcycle in Barangay Escopa III, Project 4, Quezon City.

On early morning on June 12, 2025 (Thursday), a CCTV footage captured a man who stole his neighbor’s motorcycle. The incident garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the video, the man can be seen quietly dragging the parked motorcycle away at around 4:00 a.m. He did it slowly, pushing the bike until he was far enough from the area. By around 10:00 a.m. that same day, the owner noticed the motorcycle was missing and quickly reported it to the barangay and the police.

Police launched an investigation and reviewed the CCTV footage. With the help of the clear video, they were able to identify the suspect. It turned out he was a former resident of the same neighborhood, which helped officers track him down faster.

On June 13, 2025, a follow-up operation led police to a gas station in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, where the suspect was caught. When questioned, the man claimed he only borrowed the motorcycle to use it as transportation and intended to return it. He said the owner even called his sister about it.

However, police recovered the stolen motorcycle already stripped of its plate number and flaring, clearly an attempt to avoid being identified.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had previously been jailed for drug-related charges. He is now detained at the Project 4 Police Station custodial facility and is facing charges under the New Anti-Carnapping Law.

The police were able to recover the stolen motorcycle and arrest the suspect just one day after the crime happened with the help of CCTV footage.
