Seasoned film and television actress Sue Prado has passed away at the age of 44, as confirmed by her sister, May Shereen. 

Sue Prado, the beloved Oro actress who captivated audiences with her compelling performances, has passed away at the age of 44. Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news on late Wednesday. She passed away on April 14.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

“Our dearest Sue M. Prado has become a constant star in the night sky. It is with profound pain that we share Sue’s passing,” the statement read.

In the statement, her sister described her as someone who “brought light” to others and dedicated her life to her craft and loved ones. She continued, “Sue brought light in anyone’s path throughout her life. A life lived for others, for the craft she nourished and for those who she loved most.”

As an actress, Sue was well-loved for her work in independent films and television. She was celebrated for her versatility, taking on roles in both New Wave cinema and mainstream productions.

Her film credits include Barber’s Tales, Oro, Area, Himpapawid, Dagsin, and Thelma. She also appeared in television series such as Gameboys, Abot Kamay na Pangarap, Prinsesa ng City Jail, My Father’s Wife, and FPJ’s Ang Batang Quiapo.

She also served as a jury member at the Sharm El Sheikh Asian Film Festival in 2019, where she evaluated entries in the feature film category.

Details of her wake have yet to be announced, her family said.
