Inday Barretto reveals her relationship with her daughter, Marjorie Barretto.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Barretto matriarch Inday Barretto revealed that she and Marjorie Barretto don’t get along well.
Marjorie Barretto is one of the seven children of Inday Barretto with her late husband, Miguel Barretto. Three of these children joined the show business industry, and one of them is Marjorie Barretto, who, despite stepping away from the limelight, remained popular and relevant.
She joined the entertainment industry alongside her sisters Claudine Barretto and Gretchen Barretto.
Recently, in Inday’s interview with veteran talent manager and showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz earlier this week, she was asked to describe her daughter. According to her, Marjorie is her child who is “very strong-willed,” which sometimes goes beyond the normal range.
“Marjorie is very strong-willed. Sometimes, lampas sa normal because even I as a mother get it,” she shared, and added they don’t get along well.
They may not get along fine, but as a mother, she loves her daughter. Inday added, “I’m asked and I’m honest and I’ll tell the truth–– we don’t get along fine. I love her, she knows that. She better know it otherwise, what a loss.”
She even feels like they are alike in many ways; however, with how strong Marjorie is, it makes her feel like she is rejecting her. Inday also revealed that she is “hot and cold” with her, and there were even times when she wouldn’t invite her to her parties.
“I just feels like she loves me but parang hindi ako enough sa kanya–– parang may hinahanap siya sa akin na hindi ko alam kung ano. Kasi kung alam ko, ibibigay ko,” she expressed.
Inday even has a feeling that one of the reasons behind her daughters’ feud is because of her. She believes that despite the misunderstanding, nothing could beat the love within a family.
