Nun Draws Backlash After Urging Rallyists to Show Love for President Marcos

Nun Urges Protesters to Show Love for President Marcos

A nun garnered negative reactions after urging the protesters to show love for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

A peaceful gathering at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila turned tense when a nun took the stage and delivered a message that stirred strong reactions from the crowd. The nun, identified as Sister Flor, called on people to unite and embrace love, even extending her appeal to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

During her speech, she spoke about the importance of becoming a source of light and unity amid the country’s struggles. She urged the crowd to let go of hate and instead share love unconditionally.

Nun

However, her statement that the president himself was a victim of darkness and needed to be loved rather than condemned drew the loudest reaction.

The statement quickly angered many of the rally participants, who responded by shouting slogans that opposed her call. Chants of “Marcos resign” and support for former President Rodrigo Duterte echoed through the venue as Sister Flor struggled to continue her appeal.

The supposed message of peace and healing turned into a moment of division.

Witnesses shared that while some admired the nun’s courage to speak her heart, many could not accept her words, especially in a gathering meant to voice dissent against the current administration.

The nun’s plea for compassion was drowned out by the crowd’s louder calls for accountability and leadership change.
