PAGASA Says Southwest Monsoon to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (July 10, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez reported that the southwest monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies with rain showers over the country.

“As for the rest of Luzon, particularly the eastern section of the country, generally fair weather is expected. However, due to the influence of the southwest monsoon, there remains a high chance of rain, especially during the early morning, afternoon, and evening hours,” Dominguez said
A low-pressure area was spotted 540 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
The southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique.

Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, the rest of MIMAROPA, the rest of Western Visayas, mainland Cagayan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Batangas, Rizal, and Laguna, and Davao Occidental.
The southwest monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
“A reminder to our countrymen that due to the continuous rains we have been experiencing, our soils are already saturated. So, the chances of landslides as well as flooding are also high,” she added.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over northern and western sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
