Isko Moreno has addressed some issues in Manila
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has this warning against “kamote riders,” or motorists who do not respect the traffic laws.
Many road accidents have been caused by reckless driving. Reports about motorcycle accidents always gather intense comments online, and this has been among the viral issues on social media.
Apparently, this is also one of the problems in the capital city of the Philippines, and the newly elected mayor of Manila has addressed this.

Based on the article in Bandera, Mayor Isko Moreno promised that he will not be gentle with the “kamote riders.” He said this after he witnessed an accident in the Sampaloc district.
“Isipin mo, paano kung anak mo o asawa mo ang tumatawid sa pedestrian lane ngayon at may kamote driver na katulad mo? Paano kung madisgrasya ang pamilya mo?” the actor-turned-politician said.
Mayor Isko added that this kind of motorist does not respect the pedestrian lane. “Napansin ko maraming motorista ang hindi sumusunod sa pedestrian lane. Hindi lang ito usapin ng traffic, kundi ng respeto at kaligtasan,” he said.

With this, Mayor Isko ordered the Manila Police District (MPD) and the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) to arrest those motorists who do not respect the pedestrian lane.
Prior to this, Mayor Isko Moreno also revealed that after his oath-taking, he found out that there were two big vaults inside the mayor’s office. His predecessor was former Mayor Honey Lacuna, his running mate in the 2019 elections when he ran for Mayor of Manila for the first time.
Another issue that the Manila Mayor raised was the cash advance that a city hall employee had. The amount of cash advance was a shocking P1 billion, and reportedly, this was granted a few days before the elections.
