Sen. Raffy Tulfo Speaks on Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano after SP’s 2-Day Absence in Session
RAFFY TULFO – The Senator claimed that the minority bloc invites the majority senators except for Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano to join them.
The Senate recently had a change in leadership after 13 senators voted to declare all the positions in the chamber vacant. Former Senate Pres. Tito Sotto was ousted and replaced with former minority leader Alan Peter Cayetano. The now-majority bloc denied that the change in leadership is allegedly connected to the possible impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
For former Senate Pres. Tito Sotto, he believes that his ouster is possibility related to the possible impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Following the change in leadership, the majority senators claimed that they are allegedly “being targeted”.
Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. junked the claim of some majority senators that they are allegedly being targeted. According to the President, they were the minority then when the flood control issue broke out. He stressed that he vowed for accountability in the flood control issue and the truth is allegedly coming out slowly now.
Marcos Jr. also stressed that if the senators who are faced with flood control corruption allegations are innocent, the investigations will find it. He also denied the claim of his sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, that he allegedly wants a term extension.
Sen. Jinggoy Estrada is one of the majority senators who are faced with allegations of flood control corruption. He recently voluntarily surrendered to the authorities after the Sandiganbayan released an arrest warrant against him.
When Estrada surrendered to the authorities, some majority senators accompanied him to show their support for him. One of them is Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano.
The majority senators were absent during the Senate’s Monday session. They, including Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano, also did not arrive in the supposed session today. Instead, he released videos on social media to air their bloc’s side.
Following the two-day no show of the majority senators in the Senate session, Sen. Raffy Tulfo and the other minority senators spoke before the press. Based on News5, they called for the resignation of Cayetano.
Sen. Raffy Tulfo also claimed that their doors are open for the majority senators who would like to join their bloc — except for Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano. Based on the post, he stressed that the SP should stay where he is.
“Lahat… iniimbitahan namin, pero si Alan Peter, steady ka lang diyan,” Tulfo said.
Through his social media account, Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano defended the side of the majority bloc and claimed that they are allegedly protecting the Senate committee chairmanships.
