JV Ejercito was asked about the recent legal battle of his brother, Jinggoy Estrada
Senator JV Ejercito reacted to the arrest of his brother, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, by saying that justice shall prevail.
Ejercito and Estrada are both sons of former President Erap Estrada. Both of them also followed in the footsteps of their father in politics, but it was just Sen. Jinggoy who had a slice of showbiz life in the past.
In the past, some issues have occurred between the siblings, especially when it comes to their political views and opinions. Back in 2022, it was noticeable that they had “hidwaan.”

Then, after the elections, they were seen hugging and congratulating each other. In January this year, Sen. JV Ejercito stated that he stopped talking to Sen. Jinggoy Estrada after the latter was accused of involvement in anomalous flood control projects.
On Monday, June 1, Estrada surrendered after the Sandiganbayan released an arrest warrant against him. In line with this, Ejercito was asked to react to his brother’s arrest.
The younger Senator said that he prayed that his older brother would have the strength to face the accusations against him.

On the other hand, Ejercito stressed that the truth and justice shall prevail. “Siyempre, bilang kapatid, nalulungkot din ako para sa kaniya, sa kaniyang pamilya. Kaya lang, as a public servant, kailangan nating umusad ang batas,” he said, adding that the public should know the truth and justice will eventually be served.
Meanwhile, on the day that Sen. Jinggoy Estrada surrendered, he claimed that the Senate Minority Bloc offered that his case would be dismissed, but he had to leave the Majority Bloc. Estrada said that he stood firm in his decision to refuse this because he stressed that the Senate should not be shaken by any external pressure.
